Wonderland’s first festival outing – just a week after publication – will be at Featherston Booktown Karukatea Festival. The programme for this year’s festival – the tenth – is outstanding (take a look).
I’m particularly excited to be part of the GOING COASTAL event, with Damien Wilkins and Mandy Hager, led by the wonderful Mary McCallum – fabulous watery (in a good way) company for me and my Wonderland.
GOING COASTAL
Saturday 10 May 2025, 9.30–10.30am, Featherston School Hall, $20
The coastal areas around Wellington have got crowded lately. Ghosts, a psychic, an ex-cop, a retired librarian, triplets, a theme park and Marie Curie have taken up residence, and novels by Damien Wilkins (Delirious), Mandy Hager (Strays & Waifs) and Tracy Farr (Wonderland) are responsible. Mary McCallum asks why these writers went coastal so close to home and what it brought to their novels.
Tickets for this event, and for all events at Featherston Booktown Karukatea Festival, are available to book from Monday 24 March 2025.
